CONGRATULATIONS TO CAMILA SANCHEZ-IZQUIERDO
​OUR SPELLING BEE CHAMPION

Our Spelling Bee Champion, Camila Sanchez-Izquierdo, ouf CLASS OF 2024 VALEDICTORIAN, has been studying extensively for several years, learning words that many of us have never even heard of. She has competed for two years in a row in the extremely difficult and competitive Miami Herald SPELLING BEE, winning second place in 2023, and going on to win 1st place this year.

From May 28-30, 2024, Camila represented our school in Washington DC at the SCRIPS NATIONAL SPELLING BEE. Here she competed with 245 spellers throughout the Country, and on the third round she was given a very difficult French word and missed only one letter. All of us at Highpoint will always treasure this exciting experience.

2024 MIAMI HERALD SPELLING BEE

Congratulations to CAMILA SANCHEZ-IZQUIERDO who was the CHAMPION of the 2024 Spelling Bee!
​We are extremely proud of this outstanding all-around 8th Grader.

This year's Bee was held on March 6, 2024 at the NEW WORLD CENTER in Miami Beach. 
Camila beat 24 other champion spellers from private and public schools throughout
Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties in this extremely difficult competition.

Camila will now be representing our school in the Scripps National Competition that will be held in Washington, D.C. in late May.

!On March 12, 2024 we surprised Camila with her favorite food for lunch, cake, music, and lots of congratulations from her Teachers, Friends, and our Administration Team!  We're all SO PROUD!
