OUR HEALTH SECTION

Highpoint is committed to helping improve the Mental and Physical Health and Wellness of our students and our families!

Part of our school's culture is encouraging families to live a healthy and balanced lifestyle, one that includes nutritious eating, regular exercise, and mindfulness practices. We want our students to grow up with strong bodies, bright minds, and happy hearts, empowering them to make positive, lifelong choices for their well-being.

Recognizing that this goal can be challenging, we’ve launched a "Parent Wellness Group" to support our community on this journey. Together, we’re building a culture of wellness that benefits not only our students but also their families and the broader school community.

We also work hard to ensure we provide a clean and healthy learning environment. Although we cannot completely stop our students and teachers from getting sick from time to time, we do our part to limit the exposure by cleaning classrooms and student common areas daily, regularly sanitizing toys and play areas, and taking regular outdoor breaks to circulate the air we breathe inside the classrooms.

Regardless of illness, be it a stomach bug, covid, or the common cold, we do not want any of our students or teachers getting sick. We know that no one likes to miss school due to having an illness, and we also know that health related absences (student or teacher) can negatively affect a child's progress in learning. Therefore, we have to work together to ensure we all stay safe and healthy while at school.

Below is some valuable information directly from the CDC's website to help you better determine if your child is healthy enough to return to school after being sick. We appreciate your cooperation in this to ensure we keep our school healthy and happy.

TECHNOLOGY, iPAD and
CELL PHONE POLICIES
TECHNOLOGY and cell phone POLICIES
Picture
  • Use of cell phones is prohibited on campus. Student cellular phones must be turned off and turned in to the Main Office upon arrival.
  • iPads are considered a supplemental educational tool, the same as "textbooks."
  • For the 2025-2026 school year, we will be introducing a NEW and improved iPad Management System designed to give students seamless access to their educational resources - while minimizing distractions and opportunities for misuse.
  • Devices will be configured so students are unable to use their iPads to take photos/videos, chat or text, make calls, access Social Media sites, browse YouTube or Google, or send emails - unless specifically authorized by a teacher.
  • Only school-approved e-books and educational apps will be installed on a student's iPad. All video games, noon-educational apps, and programs must be removed before the new iPad configuration. iPads must be reset to factory settings prior to book installation. We recommend parents back up games or personal content in advance to avoid loss.
  • Parents should monitor their child's time on the iPad/Computer while at home.
  • Students who use any chat platform or social media app - including but not limited to Snapchat, Instagram, X (formerly known as Twitter), Messenger, TikTok, Facebook, Wickr Me, SnapSee, Cluster, Sweet Snap, Bigo Live, Marco Polo, Snow, B612, YouCam Perfect, or any other online forum - to share inappropriate contents, bully, harass, threaten, or cause fear in others at any time (during or outside of school hours), will face serious consequences which may include suspension or immediate expulsion.
  • Consequences for inappropriate use of iPad or cell phone may include detention, suspension or immediate expulsion. Inappropriate use of devices includes cyber-bullying, sexting, or threats of any kind to either another student or Highpoint Administrator, Faculty Member or Staff is strictly prohibited.
