Our fabulous traditional CHRISTMAS SHOW will be taking place once again at THE MOSS CENTER located at 10950 S.W. 211 Street, Cutler Bay, on Sunday, December 10th at 3:00 p.m. This year's theme is "FIESTA NAVIDEÑA" Our talented Highpoint students will be learning about the music and different latin rhythms of salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia and more! During our "Fiesta" they'll be dancing to popular Spanish Holiday songs! Family Members and Friends are welcome to join us and enjoy a fun and memorable afternoon. Over 900 guests attend this event!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO TEACHERS from Ms. Alicia:
We're excited for this year's Show theme which will be entirely in SPANISH this year!
Since we understand how busy you all are and to better coordinate our Christmas Show performances, I've selected the SONGS and MUSIC of different well known Christmas songs with Spanish lyrics and rhythms. Our goal is for ALL our students to listen to different latin styles of dance so they can learn to differentiate between Salsa, Merengue, Cumbia, Bachata, Conga, Parranda, etc. NOTE: SHOW PERFORMANCES CANNOT HAVE SCRIPTS OR SPEAKING SECTIONS PLEASE.
Please click on the button below to listen and download your song/songs. (If you feel that there's one song that is too difficult for you to choreograph, please share that with us and send us another song you found that you prefer.)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1. INFORMATION TO PARENTS. We've created a MEMO TO PARENTS for each class with all the details of your performance. Mrs. Torres will be sharing these with you AFTER our "Hispanic Heritage Festival" event on October 14th. Please DO NOT send anything else home to parents regarding the Christmas Show before October 15th.
2. REHEARSALS. Mrs. Torres will also be sending you the Christmas Show REHEARSALS schedule at the Tiki Hut, and the Permission Slip for Christmas Show REHEARSALS at The Moss Center.
3. PERFORMANCE VISIBILITY. Since The Moss Center seats 900 guests, we want to make sure ALL children are visible AT ALL TIMES while they're performing! Therefore, we should not have more than 10 students at a time on front of stage. That's why most classes will be performing to TWO different songs. You can rotate them to front and back during the song to achieve good visibility. Upper grades can also come in and out of the stage in small groups. Our Admin Team will be available to help you at any time so PLEASE feel free to reach out to us.
4. SHOW ATTIRE:
This is a Holiday "FIESTA" so they should wear NICE typical dance party outfits.
Cost of outfit cannot exceed $45.00.
Choice of colors: red/green/white/gold/silver/blue; (depending on the music they will be performing to.)
ALL students must dress the same; boys attire must match the girls. The shoes can be different but you need to be specific, ie: girls flat closed shoe -or- white flat sandals, etc.
FOR SAFETY, NO SHOES WITH HEELS OF ANY SIZE ALLOWED.
Please send an email to [email protected] with pictures of your selected Attire so that our Admin Team can approve the outfits BEFORE you send information out to your parents.
Our traditional annual Holiday Show is always spectacular thanks to your hard work and efforts, and the cooperation of our students and parents. It is also our PTO's largest fund-raiser, so it has to be memorable and meaningful.
We are here to help you with whatever you need to make this event a huge success once again, so please feel free to ask any questions!
